Woman leaving church hit by drunk driver

Most Garden City residents do not approve of those who drive after they have been drinking. Drunk driving accidents are completely preventable and only occur because someone makes the irresponsible decision to drive after they have been drinking. Another innocent person was injured recently when she was hit by a drunk driver.

A woman who was recently leaving church was struck by a drunk driver in Babylon. The man first hit a group of cars, which injured several people, and then hit the 76-year-old woman who is suffering from serious injuries. The Babylon man was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

No one expects their loved one will be the victim of a drunk driver. These accidents can happen in a matter of seconds, yet can greatly affect a family with added stress and financial concerns for years to come. When a loved one is injured by a drunk driver, a family may want to speak with a legal professional about a potential personal injury lawsuit. An attorney understands the emotional and financial toll a serious car accident can have on a family. They can help the family figure out what happened to cause the accident. They can visit the accident scene and interview witnesses, review police reports and find out who is responsible. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, future medical expenses, pain and suffering and other damages.

A drunk driver needs to be held responsible for their actions. If they choose to drive drunk then they need to know that the law will not be on the side if they injure or kill someone else.
